INA3221 Three-Channel I2C/SMBus Voltage and Current Sensor
Product details
Ideal for monitoring the power consumption of batteries, supply rails, solar panels or power supplies in multi-channel systems. Unlike simpler modules such as INA219, this chip supports simultaneous voltage and current measurements on up to three independent channels.
🔧 Features:
-
Chip: INA3221
-
Number of channels: 3 independent measurement channels (CH1, CH2, CH3)
-
Communication: I2C / SMBus
-
Shunt resistors: 0.1 Ω (R100) – for current measurement
-
Supply voltage: 3.3 V or 5 V
-
Resolution: High-precision differential measurement
-
Status outputs: PV (Power Valid), CRI (Critical), WAR (Warning), TC (Timing Control)
-
VPU pin: Powers pull-up resistors from a separate supply (according to the I2C logic level)
-
Pins: SDA, SCL, GND, AO, VS and others
⚡ Electrical limits:
-
Maximum VIN+ voltage (relative to GND): 0 V to 26 V DC
-
Maximum VIN+ − VIN− difference (shunt): ±163.84 mV
-
Note: VIN+ must be higher than VIN−.
Do not exceed 26 V on the input pins, or the chip may be damaged.
📦 Applications:
-
Monitoring power supply and consumption in embedded and IoT projects
-
Monitoring batteries, solar panels, power banks and power supplies
-
Industrial systems, robotics and smart home applications
Example code for this module will be added soon. 💻
